Amoudara is situated 4km west from the city of Iraklion. The 6km long, sandy beach, runs from Iraklion to Linoperamata. If you wish to explore the Island of Crete, then Amoudara is an ideal location. Amoudara itself has an abundance of Tavernas, Bars & Restaurants all within easy reach.


The resort is more suited to families, couples & anyone not wanting to be situated in a crowded, noisy resort. Although it is a lively resort, with a few bars & clubs open to the small hours, you have a choice, it's easy to find a quiet taverna or bar & have a very relaxing evening. There are many supermarkets, souvenir shops, car / motorcycle-hire, exchange bureaus & take-away food shops to suit all types of visitor. The local people are warm & friendly & will really make you feel welcome.


Even in high season, the beach does not get overcrowded, being 6km long, there is plenty of room for everyone. Sun loungers, wind-breakers & umbrellas are available for hire, but there is also plenty of spacious sand, where you can just lay down your beach towel. All in all, Amoudara is the ideal location for an enjoyable holiday, being close to Iraklion, but, without the hustle & bustle.
